Privacy Policy

This privacy policy is applicable to the Sitby app (hereinafter referred to as “Application”) for mobile devices, which was developed by Jane R (hereinafter referred to as “Service Provider”). This service is provided “AS IS”.

What information does the Application collect?

The Application does not collect any personally identifiable information, and it does not require you to register or sign in to any account.

The data you generate while using the Application — the companion you pick, your reminder settings, your daily goal, and the duration and nudge counts of each session — is stored only locally on your device, using the operating system’s standard storage and the Application’s own document directory. It is never uploaded to any server, and the Service Provider cannot access it.

Camera Permission

This is the only sensitive permission the Application needs, so please read this section in full.

While a session is running, the Application uses the camera to determine two things: whether you are at your desk, and whether the scene is bright enough. Both determinations are made entirely on your device, using the system’s Vision human-detection request and a frame-brightness reading. Each frame is discarded immediately after those two determinations are made.

Specifically:

• The Application stores no images or video. Nothing is written to your photo library, nothing is written to the app’s storage, and no temporary files are created.
• The Application uploads nothing, and performs no network transmission of any kind.
• The Application performs no facial recognition and no identification of any person. No biometric information is extracted or stored.
• All that remains from a check is two boolean values — present or absent, bright enough or too dim — and the time they occurred. The “away” and “dim light” counts in the report come from those two values.
• By default a check runs once a minute; you may switch to continuous detection in Settings. Neither mode changes any of the above.
• You may revoke this permission at any time in Settings > Privacy & Security > Camera. Session timing continues to work afterwards; only the away and low-light reminders stop.

Notification Permission

If you enable the return reminder or any other alert, the Application requests notification permission in order to deliver local notifications on your device. These notifications are scheduled and delivered by your device alone. They never pass through a server, and the Service Provider has no way of knowing whether you received or opened them.

Does the Application collect information automatically?

No. The Application contains no advertising, integrates no third-party analytics, statistics, or tracking SDKs, and does not collect your device identifiers, IP address, location, or usage behavior. It contains no networking code at all.

Third Parties

The Application does not share data with any third party, because it does not collect data or perform any network transmission.

Data Retention and Deletion

Because all data is stored locally on your device, you can change or clear your settings inside the app at any time, or simply uninstall the Application to delete all related data.

Children

The Application is not directed to children under the age of 13, and it does not knowingly collect any information from children.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

The Service Provider may update this privacy policy from time to time. You are therefore advised to review this page periodically for any changes. Changes will be notified by posting the new privacy policy on this page.

This privacy policy is effective as of 2026-08-26.
